The moment you step into the hotel, you can feel it: you’re welcome here. The staff is incredibly warm and cheerful—a welcome that instantly puts you in a vacation mood.

I was really impressed by the rooms at Sunstar Pontresina. They are incredibly spacious and offer plenty of room to spread out and breathe deeply. The interior strikes just the right note:

• Sunrise at Lake Staz: Just a short walk away, you can witness a natural spectacle here. When the golden larch trees are reflected in the mirror-smooth water, the world looks like a painting.

• Adventure in Val Roseg: We explored this mystical, peaceful valley by e-bike, highly recommended for anyone seeking unspoiled nature.

• Morteratsch Glacier: A place that deeply impresses me every single time. The profound silence of the glacial world is almost impossible to put into words; you simply have to experience it for yourself.​

The Sunstar is open year-round, so we were able to enjoy the Engadin “Indian Summer” to the fullest. After a day on our feet or in the saddle, there’s nothing better than relaxing in the cozy lobby.

• For foodies: The freshly baked matcha cake and one of the best coffees in the region are a real draw for coffee lovers like me.

• Wellness highlight: To help your muscles recover, you can reserve the spa for an hour as a private spa. With a bio sauna, Finnish sauna, steam room, and a lovely relaxation room complete with healthy snacks, relaxation is guaranteed.
